Terms of use
Last updated: 18 September 2026
These terms cover the WhereIAm app and the whereiam.today website, offered by CODX, LLC, 1111B S Governors Ave STE 34820, Dover, DE 19904, United States. By using the app you accept what follows.
They are written to be understood. If anything is unclear, write to support@whereiam.today.
What WhereIAm is
An app that records which country you are in each day, gathers signals that back it up, and keeps count against whichever thresholds you set.
Today it is free and needs no account. If we ever add paid features, you will see that clearly before paying anything.
This is not tax advice
This is the most important thing on this page. WhereIAm is a record-keeping tool, not an adviser. It does not interpret your situation, does not know your circumstances and does not replace a professional.
Tax residency rules differ by country, by year and by case, and they include tests an app cannot see, such as where your permanent home is, where your family lives or where your economic interests are centred. Counting days is only one part of it.
Before making any decision with tax consequences, talk to a qualified adviser. You are responsible for your filings and for what you state in them.
The data can be wrong, and you have the final word
The app infers your country from imperfect signals. GPS drifts, drawn borders do not match real ones to the metre, a VPN misreports the country you connect from, phones run out of battery, and some days nobody is watching.
That is why you can correct any day by hand, and your correction wins over whatever the app inferred. Check your count before relying on it for anything serious.
The evidence the app gathers is not, on its own, legal proof before an authority. It is your record and your memory, not a certificate.
Acceptable use
Use the app to keep your own record. Do not decompile it, resell it, or use it to fabricate a history of presence for anyone.
Availability and warranties
The app is provided as is. We take care to make it work, but we do not guarantee it is free of errors, that the count is exact, or that it is always available.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the app, including tax decisions taken on the basis of its count. None of this limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer, which remain untouched.
Your data and your content
What you record is yours and stays on your device. How data is handled is set out in the privacy policy.
The name, design and code of the app are ours.
Changes and end of service
We may change the app and these terms. If a change matters, we will announce it in the app or on this page with its date. If we ever stop offering the service, we will give enough notice for you to export your data.
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, United States. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the European Economic Area, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence, nor of bringing a claim before its courts.
